Devotional for Ash
Wednesday
Dear Family and Friends,

Today
marks the start of Lenten Season. Lenten season is the solemn Christian
religious season from Ash Wednesday to EASTER, 40 weekdays, kept as a time of
fasting and repenting of sins. Some people like to give up something in their
lives that would be pleasing to God. Whatever, and however you chose to observe
and honor this sacred season, is your choice. It is a wonderful time of starting
over, purging ourselves of sin through the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ's
death on the cross and his resurrection to eternal glory. We have that promise
for our lives. Our church offers a time of open communion on this Wednesday
evening from 5-6 PM. My husband and I will be in attendance. I hope that each
one of you reading this devotional will find time this day to mark in your lives
the beginning of the Lenten season, with a new beginning for your life, with
hope and joy!

Scripture
I Corinthians 15:50-59 (NKJV)
Key verse:
51-52
Behold I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall be
changed--in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the
trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be
changed. ( The Resurrected Body)

Prayer
Dear Father,
Help us to
remember that our lives on this earth is but a mere shadow and the things to
come, eternal life through our Lord Jesus Christ, the reason for Lenten/Easter
season.
In Jesus holy and precious name.
