Most of Texas has been in a severe drought this past year. Stats show that the last drought this serious and severe was in the 1940's. There are many theories and stories out there for 'why?' The answer is that we, as mortals don't know. Only God knows.
This morning we awoke to gently falling rain that had started in the wee hours of the morning. I heard it when it started as the winds gusted. Rain has been predicted for the past few days, 40-50% chance...what do the weather forecasters know?
I began to praise the Lord with song and more praise for this wonderful gift of rain that I've prayed would happen for months. Praise the Lord ! Thank you, Sweet Jesus! Praise God for answered prayer !
Luci picked up on my excitement and ran out into the big puddle that had collected on the patio. She played in the water that covered her legs up to her tummy until she got tired! She let me dry off her feet and belly each time she came back inside! Loving water as she does, what a treat! I shot a few pics with my iPhone of the curtain of water falling from the patio roof and Luci puddling around!
What a glorious feeling came upon many of us today as we shared and praised God in church for answered prayers. People appeared joyful and truly thankful for RAIN that we know came because we prayed and were faithful in praying.
God hears and answers our prayers. Not on our timetable and as we would like. But, He does listen and wants us to pray, keeping the doors of communication open between us. Listening is a big part of prayer...do we really LISTEN, take 20 minutes a day to sit still, think about God and His Love for us?
My challenge to myself is to take 20 minutes a day, each day for this next week and LISTEN for God as I take time for Him. Quite time, alone, with God...expecting to hear from Him...
Psalm 46:10 " Be still and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exhaulted in the earth."
In His Love,
Sheri

Our Inner Spirit
Every one's Life , at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should
all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit." Albert Schweitzer er.

Sometimes it's not another human being that can rekindle our spirit, it can be a pet :)

Isaiah 41:10
This is a prayer for rain in those dry areas of America
......join in!!!
Large Prayer Circle
As evidenced by people living in Oklahoma, West Texas
and South Texas, and New Mexico ever-increasing areas in other parts of the country, the drought condition is reaching critical status; cattle are being auctioned off; crops have burned up; and drinking water is becoming a concern. Please join us in this prayer circle.
Lets make this one of the largest prayer circles ever.
It will be as though everyone is holding hands around the world
Dear Heavenly Father,
You said whatsoever any two or more come together and agree and ask in Your Son's name, it shall be given. We come to you, humbly, and ask that you bring down the rain to our parched lands. Our farmers and ranchers need it desperately, as well as our firefighters. We ask this all in Jesus' name.
Amen.
You may adopt this prayer and evidence your participation in this gathering by simply passing this prayer request on to your circle of friends!
PLEASE forward this if you believe in the power of
prayer
What you are reading came tonight as I was about to close down for the night. Please, everyone that reads it, take a moment and pray and pass it on to your friends, family, FB groups, etc. God bless each one of you and know that God loves you and GOD IS BIG ENOUGH for the crisis drought in these areas of our beloved land of the USA...

What is your Fear ?
Earthquake on the East Coast ! Crisis ! Run for Cover ! Panic ! Fear ! Anxiety ! Depression !
Hurricane 'Irene' coming inland - East Coast of USA ! Run inland ! Schools closing ! Unknown !
Natural Disasters abound ! At HOME this week ! Where do you put YOUR TRUST ? What are your VALUABLES ? When do you THINK about such things ? How do you react and or over-react to Natural
Disasters
?
I have reflected on these occurances and have come to this conclusion :
" The Lord is my light and my salvation - whom shall I fear ? The Lord is the stronghold of my life - of whom shall I be afraid ?"
Psalm 27:1

Empty Nest

Someone's growing too fast.
Ready to leave home at last.
Their heads peek out the door.
They can't wait to explore.
Their parents are busy this morn
feeding their big babies worms.
And how they talk up a storm!
Their babies have lots to learn.
Are these parents saying 'stay'
or encouraging 'go play'?
Will today
be the day?
One leans too far out.
Suddenly he's out.
Or was he pushed
for two more heads push...
out the door
to explore
the outdoors
where fun lures.
The first one
air born
spreads his wings
in the wind.
He's free! He's free!
There's much to see.
He calls 'follow me'
to his siblings with glee.
There they go
down low
then up high as the breeze
blows in the trees leaves.
Spreading their wings
they glide on the wind.
Free!
Free!
Are their parents happy or sad?
Are these fledglings glad?
Their parents did their best.
All too soon there's an empty nest.
